Earlier this year, the COPA v Wright case came to a dramatic conclusion when computer scientist Craig Wright’s claims to be the inventor of Bitcoin were debunked. Bird & Bird, a leader in Intellectual Property (IP) and media law, acted for the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) in the case and successfully disproved Wright’s claims to own IP rights to Bitcoin.
We’ll be hearing from the Bird & Bird lawyers about what they did on the case from start to finish, providing students with an unmissable insight into real-life litigation. The speakers will also reflect on their career journeys to date and give advice to aspiring lawyers hoping to work on such matters in the future.
After a presentation and Q&A, there will be virtual networking with Bird & Bird trainees, apprentices and members of the firm's early careers team.
