Legal Cheek is coming to Nottingham for the latest in its series of IN-PERSON Secrets to Success events – run in association with The University of Law (ULaw) – to help students boost their commercial awareness ahead of vacation schemes and training contract interviews.
The event takes place on Thursday 29 February at ULaw’s Nottingham campus, and features lawyers from Shoosmiths and Gateley, alongside a careers expert from ULaw.
The speakers will share the secrets to their own success, telling the stories of their career journeys and advising students on how they can best position themselves to obtain training contracts with leading law firms. Also up for discussion will be the key commercial awareness topics that students need to have on their radar.
The speakers
• Helen Webster, legal director and regional training principal at Gateley Legal
• Sarah Hartley, trainee solicitor at Shoosmiths
• Harriet Pearce, campus manager for ULaw Nottingham and former solicitor specialising in dispute resolution
After the Question Time-style discussion, which will be chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist, there will be networking over drinks and snacks with the speakers, current trainees from the firms and members of their graduate recruitment teams. It’s a great opportunity not only to meet the firms but also to check out ULaw’s Nottingham campus, situated close to many top law firms in the centre of Nottingham's business district.
Apply to attend above. You’ll be asked to submit two questions for the speakers.
