The latest in Legal Cheek’s 2023 series of Secrets to Success events — held in association with The University of Law (ULaw) — focuses on legal tech.
What does the future hold for legal tech amidst the rapid developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI)? How should students be engaging with this trend as they develop the commercial awareness that is central to training contract applications?
These are some of the key questions that will be covered at this virtual event, taking place on the afternoon of Monday 17 July.
The virtual event begins with a panel discussion chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist, who will put questions to a panel of lawyers and legal tech experts from Allen & Overy, Macfarlanes and Osborne Clarke, as well as an expert in legal education from ULaw, about key issues relating to legal tech.
During this discussion, the speakers will provide an insight into how they are working to deliver legal services in a more efficient way with the help of new technologies. The speakers will also be encouraged to discuss their career journeys and advise students hoping to follow a similar path.
The speakers
• Alexander Grieve, advanced delivery analyst at Allen & Overy
• Adam Fieldgate, associate in the lawtech team at Macfarlanes
• Ben Cooper, solutions director at Osborne Clarke
• Dr Anna Elmirzayeva, national lead for legal technology and innovation, professional development at The University of Law
After the panel discussion there will be virtual networking with the speakers, graduate recruitment teams and current trainees from their firms, as well as members of the ULaw employability team.
Apply to attend above. You’ll be asked to submit two questions for the speakers.
